Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate MUST have dental experience and will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental office software, and a friendly demeanor to ensure a positive patient experience. Prior dental or medical office experience is preferred, along with familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in maintaining efficient office operations and supporting the overall success of our practice.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using dental practice management software (Dentrix preferred)
Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls, and handle appointment requests
Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
Collect payments, process billing, and handle administrative paperwork
Maintain organized front desk area and ensure smooth daily operations
Assist with patient correspondence, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information
Support the team with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and supply management
Skills
Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist front desk role is a MUST.
Proficiency with dental practice management software Dentrix
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare settings
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing schedules and patient information
Previous office experience in a fast-paced environment is desirable
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a friendly, professional manner
