Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency with electronic health records systems. Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly valued to ensure smooth daily operations and positive patient experiences.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations with professionalism and courtesy
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar practice management software
Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls, and provide information
Verify patient insurance details and update electronic medical records accurately using Epic or other EMR systems
Collect payments, process billing, and manage financial transactions efficiently
Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily workflow and patient care delivery
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental/medical office environment preferred
Proficiency with Dentrix, Epic, Medical terminology, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems required
Strong knowledge of office procedures, multi-line phone systems, and administrative practices
Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Experience with dental or medical office software is highly desirable
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in healthcare administration are a plus
