Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing outstanding patient service at the front desk
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm dental appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Meditech
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes accurately, including collecting co-pays and verifying insurance information
Handle phone communication with patients, insurance companies, and vendors with professionalism and clarity
Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation review and filing of dental charts and reports
Process medical billing and collections using health insurance knowledge, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and Medicare procedures
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies at all times
Support clinic operations through clerical tasks such as data entry, typing, filing, and 10-key typing with precision
Qualifications
Proven experience as a medical receptionist or administrative support in a healthcare or dental setting
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth
Familiarity with medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD), health insurance processes, and Medicare guidelines
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication tasks
Exceptional customer service skills with phone etiquette and professional demeanor
Ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred to ensure smooth onboarding
