Job Description

seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our busy Bronx dental office. This position is best suited for someone who already has dental office experience, communicates professionally, and can confidently assist patients in both English and Spanish.

Previous dental receptionist or dental front desk experience is required. Applicants without prior dental office experience will not be considered. Fluency in both English and Spanish is also required.

Responsibilities
Welcome patients and manage the check-in and check-out process.

Answer incoming calls and communicate with patients in English and Spanish.

Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule dental appointments.

Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.

Explain treatment estimates, copayments, and outstanding balances to patients.

Collect payments and provide receipts.

Maintain accurate patient demographics, insurance information, and records.

Monitor the appointment schedule and help keep patient flow organized.

Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.

Use dental practice-management software to document calls, appointments, and account information.

Perform other front desk and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Previous experience working at the front desk of a dental office.

Fluency in English and Spanish.

Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.

Experience verifying dental insurance and discussing patient financial responsibility.

Strong telephone, customer-service, and communication skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental office.

Professional, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.

Comfortable working with computers, electronic patient records, and dental scheduling software.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience using iDentalSoft or another dental practice-management system.

Familiarity with Medicaid, commercial dental plans, and managed-care insurance.

Experience collecting patient balances and presenting treatment estimates.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, patient-focused, and able to handle front desk responsibilities with accuracy and professionalism. This is an in-person position and requires regular attendance and punctuality.
