We are looking for people with prior dental experience!
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk, ensuring a seamless patient experience from appointment scheduling to check-out. Your energetic approach will help foster a welcoming environment while managing administrative tasks with precision. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of dental terminology and office management systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient service. Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including collecting payments and updating records
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly
Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information security
Assist with documentation review, medical billing, and processing claims in EMR systems like Meditech or eClinicalWorks
Support clinic operations by managing filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry tasks
Coordinate with dental staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling
Ensure accurate documentation of patient care plans and treatment notes in electronic health record (EHR) systems
Qualifications
Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in medical office administration is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD, CPT), and health information management systems such as Eaglesoft
Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is advantageous
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (including 10-key typing)
Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical billing procedures including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
