Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Administrator, where your leadership and organizational skills will drive the smooth operation of our dental practice. This vital role combines administrative excellence with clinical support, ensuring that patient care is seamless and that the practice runs efficiently. As a Dental Administrator, you will oversee daily office functions, manage financial processes, and coordinate between staff, patients, and vendors to uphold the highest standards of dental care management. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for both patients and team members.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of dental office administration, including scheduling appointments, patient check-in/out, and maintaining accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Oversee fiscal management tasks like budgeting, billing, coding, insurance claims processing, and financial reporting to ensure the practice’s profitability and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Supervise office staff, including receptionists, dental assistants, and hygienists; provide training on medical office management protocols and HIPAA compliance to safeguard patient confidentiality.
Coordinate with dental providers to ensure clinical operations align with administrative policies; support practice management initiatives to improve workflow efficiency.
Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, dental procedures, and healthcare regulations such as JCAHO standards and HIPAA requirements to ensure legal compliance.
Facilitate communication between patients, insurance companies, and vendors; handle inquiries related to managed care plans and billing issues.
Support human resources functions by assisting with staffing schedules, performance evaluations, and onboarding new team members.
Experience
Proven experience in medical or dental office management with a strong understanding of healthcare administration processes.
Prior supervisory experience overseeing administrative or clinical staff within a healthcare setting.
Extensive familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks or Epic is highly desirable.
Knowledge of fiscal management including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle management in a healthcare environment.
Experience working in dental clinics or other healthcare facilities that adhere to JCAHO standards or similar accreditation bodies.
Background in medical administrative support roles involving medical records management, billing procedures, and insurance claim processing.
