Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere at the front desk
Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software Open Dental, ensuring optimal patient flow
Verify insurance coverage and benefits accurately documenting all details
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and professionally
Collect and process payments,
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
Assist with intake procedures, dental terminology explanations, and updating patient information.
Experience
Previous experience as a medical or dental receptionist in a clinical setting is highly preferred
Familiarity with dental terminology and insurance verification processes
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and data entry (10 key typing)
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines
Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Prior clinic or hospital experience involving medical administrative support, documentation review, and office management
