Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and familiarity with dental office operations to ensure a smooth patient experience and support the clinical team effectively. We are a small three operatory general practice clinic with many long-standing clients. Hours are generally Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm and Friday as a flexible administrative day. No evenings or weekends.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments using Gold software.
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately.
Verify patient insurance information and update records accordingly.
Prepare and organize patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and current.
Collect payments, co-pays, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining a clean front desk area.
Coordinate appointment scheduling with the dental team to optimize daily operations.
Handle correspondence via email or mail as needed, ensuring timely communication with patients.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
Prior experience as a dental receptionist is required.
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Gold is desirable.
Strong knowledge of terminology relevant to dental care is necessary.
Experience working with electronic records systems and office equipment.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and empathetic demeanor.
Previous experience working in a fast-paced office environment is advantageous.
Knowledge of insurance verification processes and billing procedures is required.
Pay: $32.00-$38.00 per hour
