Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing appointment scheduling, and supporting the administrative functions of the clinic. This role requires familiarity with dental and medical office systems, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of healthcare documentation and billing processes. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly, including multi-line phone systems and patient check-in/check-out procedures
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification using VYNE
Collect payments and perform dental billing tasks
Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
Assist with patient intake processes, including updating medical history and ensuring all documentation is complete
Manage patient communications via phone etiquette, email, and other channels to ensure excellent customer service
Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation review for care plans and treatment procedures
Stay current with dental terminology, coding updates, insurance requirements, and related healthcare regulations
Requirements
Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred; clinic or dental office experience is a plus
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft
Knowledge of CPT coding, dental billing, insurance verification, and health information management
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency.
Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards
Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations
Office or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with front desk operations and medical records management is advantageous
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
