Job Description
Job Summary
As a Dental Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients visiting or contacting the dental clinic. You will interact with patients, manage appointment scheduling, and handle administrative tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors with a welcoming demeanor
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, manage patient inquiries, and provide information about services
-Handle patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting necessary forms, documents, and payments
-Assist in billing, insurance claims, and verifying patient coverage
- Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation
- Communicate with dental staff regarding patient flow and appointment status
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception & waiting area
- Manage office inventory and supplies as needed
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
-Handle additional clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning
Requirements
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in dental terminology, dental management software, and knowledge of health information management
- Strong communication skills and phone etiquette with a patient-centered approach
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Organizational and time management abilities
-Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform 10 key typing for data entry tasks
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-High school diploma or equivalent
