Overview

Duties
Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk
Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) system.
Verify patient insurance information and process payments efficiently, including medical collections and billing procedures
Manage patient records with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
Answer phone calls promptly with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately
Review documentation for accuracy, update care plans, and assist with medical records management
Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling
Requirements
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role, preferably within a dental clinic environment
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
Familiarity with health insurance processes, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing procedures
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and 10-key typing skills
Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Prior clinic experience with medical terminology, documentation review, and health information management is preferred
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry, and administrative support tasks
Strong communication skills for effective phone communication and patient service delivery
