Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties
Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and manage check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and courtesy
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy and attention to detail
Maintain patient records by updating medical histories, documenting treatment plans, and reviewing documentation for completeness in compliance with HIPAA policies
Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries promptly, and direct calls appropriately using proper phone etiquette
Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting co-pays and explaining treatment procedures or financial policies
Ensure all clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed while handling sensitive health information and medical records
Support the clinical team by coordinating care plans, reviewing documentation, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Meditech or Dentrix
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a dental clinic or healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and health insurance processes including Medicare and Medicaid
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; experience with Epic or Meditech is a plus
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per minute is preferred
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and billing processes
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical billing procedures, insurance verification processes, and clinical confidentiality policies is essential
Prior office management experience within a dental or medical environment is preferred
