Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative support within a busy dental practice. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and compliance standards. Bilingual abilities and prior dental clinic experience are highly valued to ensure seamless patient interactions and efficient office operations.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive patient experience at the front desk
Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software s
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification
Collect payments and perform medical billing and collections accurately
Review and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient inquiries
Maintain accurate documentation review for treatment plans, insurance claims
Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration and data entry
Manage filing of medical records, correspondence, and other administrative documents
Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks such as typing reports, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining office supplies
Skills
Proven experience in a medical or dental office environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical billing practices
Proficiency with dental practice management software
Knowledge of insurance verification processes
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management systems
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities; bilingual skills are a plus
Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience in medical office management or front desk responsibilities within a dental or healthcare setting is desirable
