Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for patients, and facilitating smooth communication between patients and dental staff. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of our practice and providing exceptional service to our patients.
Duties
Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist them with check-in procedures.
Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar effectively.
Handle patient inquiries, both in-person and over the phone, with professionalism and care.
Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation review and updates in computerized systems.
Process medical billing and collections.
Coordinate insurance verification and manage claims submissions.
Utilize OpenDental software for scheduling, patient management, and record keeping.
Assist with general office duties such as filing and maintaining a clean reception area.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient flow throughout the office.
Requirements
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role within a dental office is preferred.
Proficiency in computerized systems for scheduling and documentation review is essential.
Familiarity with medical billing processes and collections practices is highly desirable.
Knowledge of OpenDental software or similar dental practice management systems is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
