Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong background in medical and dental administrative support, and a passion for providing outstanding patient service. As a Dental Receptionist, you will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle insurance verification, and maintain accurate medical records. Your role is vital in ensuring smooth office operations and delivering a welcoming environment for patients.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, to facilitate accurate billing processes.
Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and accurately.
Assist with medical billing and collection processes, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review.
Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper filing of dental and medical documentation.
Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management of office supplies.
Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate patient care plans and ensure seamless clinic operations.
Utilize EMR systems like Meditech or eClinicalWorks to update patient information accurately.
Experience
Prior experience in a dental office or healthcare setting is highly preferred, with demonstrated proficiency in dental terminology and medical billing practices.
Strong computer skills with familiarity in dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with EMR systems like Epic or Meditech is advantageous.
Knowledge of insurance verification procedures, CPT coding, ICD coding, and medical billing processes.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and health information management.
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
Proven ability to provide exceptional patient service while managing multiple administrative tasks efficiently.
