Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a friendly and efficient front desk environment
Schedule patient appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Verify insurance coverage and benefits through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth to ensure proper billing and authorization
Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle medical billing using medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) and billing systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech
Manage patient records by updating electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintaining accurate documentation review processes
Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and handling appointment inquiries
Assist with insurance verification, intake procedures, and documentation review to support seamless clinic operations
Maintain organized filing of medical records, dental charts, and administrative documents while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk running smoothly
Collaborate with dental staff on care plans and patient follow-up to enhance overall patient service experience
Qualifications
Proven experience in a medical or dental office environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative support
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar practice management software; experience with Epic or Meditech is a plus
Knowledge of insurance verification processes, medical billing, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key strokes per second is preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities
Ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail in recordkeeping and data entry
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and office management practices is advantageous
