Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! In this essential role, you will be the friendly face and first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your expertise in medical administrative support, insurance verification, and dental terminology will keep our office running efficiently. Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and care
Schedule appointments using dental office management software Eaglesoft
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans, ensuring accurate billing and coding
Review medical records, documentation, and care plans for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; respond promptly to patient inquiries
Collect payments, process co-pays, and perform medical billing using EMR systems like Meditech or Epic
Maintain organized filing of dental records, medical records, and correspondence while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
Support front desk operations by managing office supplies, scheduling follow-up visits, and coordinating with clinical staff as needed
Billingual (English and Spanish)
Skills
Proven experience in dental office.
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Eaglesoft, or similar dental practice management software
Excellent patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities
Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and process claims efficiently; experience with insurance verification processes preferred
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
