Job Description
Northeast Surgical Specialists is looking for a new surgical assistant to add to their AAAASF accredited Oral Surgery Practice. We are looking for a friendly, compassionate, strong worker who pays attention to detail and takes pride in their work. This candidate must have a desire to be pro-active while maintaining a positive work environment. This candidate must have the ability to communicate efficiently and professionally, who is looking for a long term career.
You will be responsible for:
*Seats, prepares and discharges patients as well as provides oral or write
pre-operative and post operative treatment instructions.
*Complies with patients needs at all times.
*Applies sterile techniques and complies with OSHA and HIPPA regulations
at all times.
*Ensures that patient charts contain all pertinent information and are available for
physicians use.
*Alerts doctor of patient’s allergies prior to beginning of exams
*Assists doctor at chair-side with a variety of procedures.
*Maintains doctors work schedule and manages patient flow.
*Ensures efficient turnover of exam rooms.
*Stocks, cleans, sets up and breaks down exam rooms, treatment areas and
sterilization area.
*Delivers and arranges appropriate instruments and materials in treatment rooms.
*Manages the sterilization, set up and break down of instrument trays and other
equipment.
*Maintains an adequate supply of clean instruments in sterilization area.
*Take x-rays.
*Sterilizes and manages hand pieces used in procedures.
*Maintains suction system, sterilization equipment and other dental
equipment as necessary. Change oxygen tanks when needed and order new
tanks from vendor.
*Monitors inventories and communicates stocking needs to co-workers.

* Excellent customer service & a professional manner
* Strong communication skills
