Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between patients and the clinical team, managing treatment plans, insurance verifications, and patient communications. This role requires excellent customer service skills, proficiency with dental and medical office systems, and a thorough understanding of dental terminology and procedures. The Dental Treatment Coordinator will ensure smooth clinic operations by coordinating appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and supporting documentation review to facilitate optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding treatment plans, scheduling, and insurance inquiries
Verify insurance benefits including Medicare, Medicaid, and private carriers using Eaglesoft.
Review patient documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Prepare and explain treatment plans and financial options to patients in a clear and compassionate manner
Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations, claims submissions, and follow-up on pending claims
Maintain patient records with meticulous attention to detail including filing, data entry, and updating medical histories
Support front desk operations including appointment scheduling using medical office management software and multi-line phone systems
Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards for health information management and patient confidentiality
Provide exceptional patient service through effective phone etiquette, clerical support, and administrative assistance
Qualifications
Proven experience in dental office management or medical administrative support within a clinical setting
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or Meditech is a plus
Knowledge of insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Bilingual abilities are preferred but not required
Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (10 key typing)
