Job Description
About the Position
Kaneohe Family Dental Care is hiring a Dental Treatment Coordinator to help patients understand their recommended treatment, insurance benefits, and payment options. You will work closely with our dentists and office team to coordinate appointments, maintain accurate records, and support a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
Review dentist-recommended treatment plans with patients and explain associated costs and next steps.
Refer clinical questions to the dentist or appropriate clinical team member.
Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits, explain estimated patient costs, and clarify that coverage is subject to insurance processing.
Discuss available payment and financing options according to office policies.
Schedule treatment appointments and follow up with patients regarding pending treatment.
Maintain accurate patient records, treatment estimates, and communication notes in the practice management system.
Assist with patient check-in, check-out, phone calls, and payment collection.
Coordinate with the clinical and administrative teams to support patient care and scheduling.
Protect patient privacy and handle confidential information according to office policies.
Qualifications
Previous dental office or treatment coordination experience is preferred.
Candidates with relevant customer service, scheduling, billing, or administrative experience may also be considered. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly and respectfully.
Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Comfort using computers and learning office software.
Familiarity with Open Dental, dental terminology, and dental insurance is preferred.
