For 40 years, Care For the Homeless has fought homelessness by delivering high-quality and client-centered health care, human services and shelter to homeless individuals and families, and by advocating for policies to ameliorate, prevent and end homelessness.

The Dentist will diagnose and treat problems with patients’ teeth, gums, and related parts of the mouth. They provide advice and instruction on taking care of the teeth and gums and on diet choices that affect oral health.
This employee will work as part of the PCMH team with the following essential duties and responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide primary, preventive and reconstructive dental services, including but not limited to, diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, treatment of oral conditions and illnesses within the scope of a dental practice, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated
Management of patients in the outpatient setting, and refer them to appropriate outside centers as needed for management and treatment
Participation in general clinical performance improvement activities including regular peer review of each colleagues’ s charts is a requirement
Dentist is expected to learn and use CFH electronic health record system including practice management software, medical record software, dental record software, and digital radiograph software
Regular attendances of scheduled meetings of the dental staff and clinical staff is mandatory
Chart completion is consistent with CFH P/P
Requirements:
Doctoral Degree (DDS or DMD) required.
General Practice Residency (GPR) preferred.
Current NY dental license and DEA in good standing
Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and infection control compliance
Current CPR certification
Prof Liability insurance
NPI
Experience:
1-2 years of experience; new grads welcome
Self-directed; ability to direct and manage tasks and treat patients independently.
