Clinic Dentist (Part-Time – 20 Hours/Week)
Location: San Antonio, TX | Campus: On-Site
Program: Dental Hygiene
Type: Part-Time (20 Hours Per Week)
Schedule: Day Shifts
Compensation: $48.01 – $62.41 per hour
Position Summary
Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Clinical Dentist to support our Dental Hygiene Program at our San Antonio campus. In this vital role, you will provide essential dental oversight while collaborating with students, instructors, and clinical staff across a 20-hour per week daytime schedule.
The ideal candidate is a licensed dentist passionate about mentorship, ready to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, and eager to help shape the next generation of dental hygiene professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight & Patient Care:
Dental Services & Supervision: Provide comprehensive dental services within the dental hygiene clinic and supervise clinical care during medical emergencies.
Diagnostics & Prescriptions: Prescribe and oversee radiographic and diagnostic services in strict accordance with Texas State Board regulations.
Student Mentorship & Instruction:
Clinical Guidance: Supervise, evaluate, and mentor student dental hygienists and dental assistant externs during live clinical practice.
Didactic Support: Deliver classroom lectures or laboratory instruction as assigned by the Program Director.
Operations & Professional Engagement:
Clinic Operations: Support day-to-day clinic workflows, participate in faculty clinical meetings, and attend in-service educational training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: DDS or DMD degree from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Texas.
Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of active clinical practice preferred.
Teaching Background: Prior experience in a clinical teaching, supervisory, or preceptor role is highly desirable.
Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with computer applications and dental management software.
