Job Description
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, treat and maintain the oral cavity of both the hard and soft tissues and their related structure by usual customary dental practices
Diagnose and render high quality dental care
Conduct in-service training programs in oral health for the ancillary staff of the Dental Department, and for other Health Center staff
Teach Oral Health Education, including preventive care and nutrition to patients
Maintain all dental records as prescribed by Dental Policy and Procedures Manual
Assist in teaching dental staff specific dental procedures outlined in the Department's Procedures Manual
Assist in oral health education activities at community agencies
Share on-call duties as assigned
Participate in Peer Review
Ability to work a full-time schedule, including one weekend day per week, or a part-time schedule of at least two days per week, including Saturdays
Perform other administration duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree from accredited Dental School (DDS or DMD)
License to practice dentistry in New York State
Enrollment as a New York State Medicaid provider
Valid NPI number
Current BLS/CPR certification
Must be a general dentist with at least 1 year experience and high competency in clinical dentistry
Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese required
Commitment to and knowledge of community health care
Good organizational skills
