Job Description
The Department of Corrections invites skilled dentists to bring their expertise to a part-time role that supports important community health needs. As a Dentist (Part-Time) with the Department of Corrections, you will help deliver dependable dental services to the inmate population at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Huntingdon. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position focuses on providing essential dental care and overseeing daily operations within the correctional setting. As a dentist with the Department of Corrections, you will perform the following duties:
Clinical Care: Provide examinations, diagnose oral diseases, and deliver dental treatment to inmates
Staff Oversight: Supervise the daily work of assigned dental staff
Treatment Support: Assist specialists during on-site procedures
Security Compliance: Maintain required tool control, security measures, and material handling procedures
Patient Consultation: Consult with and refer patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care professionals

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Part-time employment, up to a 30-hour work week
Your work schedule is to be determined. You will not be required to work weekends.
Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Hourly rate: In some cases, the hourly rate may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $84.94 (before taxes).
