JOB

As a Dentist with the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill, you will play an important part in ensuring access to quality dental care for those who need it most. This role provides structure, teamwork, and the freedom to focus on patient care without the demands of nights or weekends. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

This position provides essential dental services to the inmate population at SCI Camp Hill and supports the delivery of safe, effective, and well-organized clinical care. It involves conducting examinations, diagnosing oral conditions, and performing dental treatments in a secure correctional setting. As a Dentist, you will perform the following duties:

Clinical Examinations: Perform dental exams, diagnose oral diseases, and assess injuries for appropriate treatment

Dental Treatment: Provide basic dental care and carry out necessary clinical procedures for inmates

Specialist Assistance: Support visiting specialists by assisting with on-site treatment and related tasks

Safety Compliance: Ensure security, tool control, and proper handling of toxic and caustic materials within the dental office

Referral Coordination: Consult with and refer patients to physicians, oral surgeons, or other health care professionals

Operational Support: Follow institutional procedures to maintain an organized and secure clinical environment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. You will not be required to work evenings or on-call duties.

Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55

DEA License renewal and liability insurance is covered by the Commonwealth

Up to 50 hours of additional paid leave for job-related continuing medical education

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Competitive, with potential for yearly incentive payments in addition to your standard salary. (Quality Assurance Payments)
