Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team! Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique standards.
Take and develop dental X-rays using modern medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools.
Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like TDO, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care delivery.
Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health best practices in clear, understandable terms.
Support infection control protocols by maintaining a clean environment and following strict sterilization procedures.
Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with dental reception staff.
Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and medical coding to ensure accurate documentation of procedures.
Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and treatment efficiency.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
Familiarity with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing medical records is essential.
Knowledge of EMR systems such as TDO, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic will facilitate seamless workflow integration.
Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology is required.
Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is advantageous; ongoing training in dental assisting is encouraged for growth.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and excellent patient service skills.
