Job Description
The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a part-time Endodontist to join our Dental Services team. This position is scheduled for 18 hours per week on Fridays and Saturdays. In this role, you will provide specialized endodontic care, including the diagnosis and treatment of pulpal and periradicular diseases, while collaborating closely with our general dentists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered dental care to Boston's diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and treat pulpal and periradicular diseases using evidence-based endodontic techniques.
Perform conventional root canal therapy for anterior teeth, bicuspids, and molars.
Perform surgical endodontic procedures, including apicoectomies and retrograde fillings, when appropriate.
Develop comprehensive treatment plans and communicate findings and recommendations to patients.
Collaborate with referring dentists to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Manage post-treatment care and address endodontic complications as needed.
Maintain accurate dental records while adhering to infection control and universal precaution standards.
Respond appropriately to dental emergencies and provide care for medically complex patients and patients with disabilities.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
Completion of an accredited Advanced Graduate Program in Endodontics (Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study or equivalent).
Current Massachusetts license to practice dentistry.
Current BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start
Demonstrated experience performing both conventional and surgical endodontic procedures.
Ability to evaluate complex cases and determine when specialty consultation or additional treatment is required.
Strong communication and patient education skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Pay: $72.00 - $80.00 per hour
