Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this role, you will provide essential support in delivering high-quality dental care to children, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for our young patients. Your expertise in pediatric dentistry and familiarity with dental terminology will be crucial as you assist the dentist in various procedures and manage the clinic's operations efficiently.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready and sterilized according to infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to safety standards and HIPAA regulations.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient histories and treatment plans using Open Dental
Educate patients and their parents about oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Monitor vital signs of patients before procedures to ensure their safety.
Uphold aseptic techniques throughout all procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow within the clinic.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
Previous experience in a pediatric dental setting or general dentistry is preferred.
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation practices.
Proficiency in Open dental or other similar software.
Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Skills in chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and performing medical imaging tasks.
A strong understanding of prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry principles.
