Extended Duties Dental Assistant / EDDA

Palmer Park Dentistry

Colorado Springs, CO

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:45 AM–5:00 PM

$24–$27 per hour

Palmer Park Dentistry is looking for an experienced Extended Duties Dental Assistant to join our team in Colorado Springs.

This is a great opportunity for an EDDA who wants to use the full range of their skills in a modern, patient-focused practice. Pay & Benefits

$24–$27 per hour, based on experience

What You’ll Do

Prepare operatories for patient treatment

Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards

Assist the dentist directly during procedures using four-handed dentistry

Take x-rays and intraoral photos

Accurately and efficiently treatment plan based on the doctor’s diagnosis

Provide patient education and post-operative instructions

Perform lab duties, including pouring models, taking impressions, and fabricating temporary crowns

Stock supplies and maintain equipment

Accurately document and maintain patient health information

Place temporary and permanent restorations and shape to proper contour

Remove sutures and place rubber dams as directed by the dentist

Place sealants

Apply fluoride

Perform coronal polishing

Take final impressions

Monitor nitrous oxide

Support the clinical team wherever needed to keep the day running smoothly

What We’re Looking For

EDDA certification or at least 1 year of EDDA experience

CPR/BLS certification required

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments

Confidence working in a busy dental environment

Strong chairside assisting skills

Ability to anticipate needs and stay one step ahead

Excellent patient communication skills

Professional, calming, and compassionate bedside manner

Strong attention to detail with documentation and treatment planning

Team-first mindset

Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental or Dentrix

Knowledge of prosthodontics and restorative procedures

Experience with clear aligners such as Invisalign is a plus
