Job Description
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) — Gunbarrel Dental Center, Boulder, Colorado | Monday–Thursday, 7:00am–3:30pm | Fee-for-Service Practice
This isn't a corporate dental office. It's a team.
At Gunbarrel Dental Center, we're a privately owned, fee-for-service practice in Boulder, which means we are able to provide high-level, comprehensive care and work in service of our patients and in alignment with our values, not within the confines of a corporate model or dental insurance. We set our own standards, invest in our relationships, and take the long view on everything: patient care, team culture, and how we show up for each other every day. We value work-life balance and strive to create an environment where each team member and the practice can live up to their highest potential.
We're looking for an experienced, skilled EDDA who wants a genuine professional home and who wants to support us as we continue to grow.
The Role
As an EDDA at GDC, you'll work chairside with the doctor as a skilled clinical partner, not just a task-doer. You'll help create an environment where patients feel cared for, informed, and at ease from the moment they sit down to the moment they walk out the door. Your expanded skill set will be fully utilized here, and your clinical judgment and attention to detail will be trusted.
Day-to-day, that looks like:
Chairside assisting through a wide range of procedures
Packing cord, taking impressions, pouring models, and fabricating temporary crowns
Bleach tray and retainer fabrication
Working with our intraoral scanner and dental photography (intra- and extra-oral)
Supporting clear aligner therapy workflows
Taking health histories, updating medical records, and educating patients in a calm, approachable way
Sterilizing and maintaining instruments in strict adherence to OSHA standards
Showing up fully each day to support, and communicate the team as a whole
This is a hands-on clinical role where your skills, initiative, and presence genuinely matter.
What We're Looking For
You're a dental assistant who takes real pride in your clinical work and in the patient experience. You're detail-oriented and proactive, comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team. You are articulate and communicate well with patients, teammates, and the doctor alike. You don't cut corners, and you hold yourself to a high standard because that's just who you are.
Preferred qualifications:
Minimum one year of dental assisting experience
EDDA certification (required) and X-ray certification (required)
Proficiency with intraoral scanners (experience with clear aligner therapy a plus)
Experience with Dentrix or comparable practice management software
Valid CPR, OSHA, and HIPAA certifications
A calm, professional, and genuinely warm chairside presence
What We Offer
Competitive pay: $22–$30/hour based on experience
Consistent schedule: Monday–Thursday
Dental benefits for you and your immediate family
401(k) with profit sharing
Paid time off and paid holidays
Uniform allowance
Continuing education and professional development support
Free parking
Our Core Values
These aren't words on a wall. They're how we make decisions and how we hold each other accountable.
Lead With Humanity: We treat each other and our patients with love, respect, and kindness, recognizing them first as a whole person, then as a patient.
Endless Curiosity: We bring a beginner's mind to all aspects of our work — curious about our patients, open to new techniques, and never assuming we already have all the answers.
Bend, Don't Break: We embrace change and adapt readily, because doing so is the only way to provide the best possible care and keep growing.
Personal Power: We empower our patients to understand and take ownership of their oral health — and we empower each other to feel confident, autonomous, and capable in our roles.
Own Your Actions: We take ownership of our work, hold ourselves to a high standard, and are precise and detail-oriented in everything we do.
We Before Me: We go above and beyond for one another and for our patients, because we know we can accomplish more together than alone.
If these resonate with you, we want to hear from you.
