Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated English/Spanish speaking and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a sterile environment, all while delivering exceptional service to our patients.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Perform dental radiography (X-rays, CBCT) and ensure proper medical imaging protocols are followed.
Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient histories and treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling using Dentrix software to optimize patient flow.
Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Take and record vital signs as needed prior to treatments.
Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, focusing on creating a comfortable experience for young patients.
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance overall patient satisfaction and office efficiency.
Requirements
Proven experience in dental assisting or completion of a recognized dental assistant program.
Proficiency in using Dentrix Ascend or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with general dentistry practices as well as pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
Ability to perform medical imaging procedures safely and effectively.
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient interaction and education.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not mandatory.
