Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Duty Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. Adding 3rd assistant to growing Private practice. NOT corporate owned. Great patient base. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be X-ray and nitrous certified. Must have excellent time management skills, be teachable, and be able to work well with others.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Epic.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic.
Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary.
Support general dentistry, endodontic, and implant procedures by providing necessary assistance to the dentist.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Skills
Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding radiographic techniques.
Familiarity with dental clinic operations and procedures.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
Ability to apply aseptic techniques consistently in all clinical settings.
Knowledge of implant procedures is a plus, enhancing support for specialized procedures.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
