Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, perform advanced dental procedures, and support the delivery of comprehensive patient care. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with various dental software systems. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a sterile environment while ensuring efficient clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including fillings, crown and bridge, prosthodontics, and implant restoration.
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop X-rays ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Manage patient vital signs and medical imaging documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Operate and update electronic health records
Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures.
Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance. Being comfortable and able to communicate with the patient about their needs is one of the most critical parts of this job.
Assist with dental clinic operations including reception duties as needed, ensuring smooth patient flow.
We are looking to find someone special to join us at Johnson Family Dental. We have a small, close-knit practice that we hope to add a new dental assistant to. Above all we want the candidate to be empathetic when treating patients. Patient care and the relationships we foster at our small office are one of the most important things we do.
Must have:
-Certified Dental Assistant Certification in the state of Indiana
-Completion of an EFDA program
-Must hold an Indiana Dental Radiography license that is up to date
-CPR certified
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
