Job Description
Expanded Functions Dental Assistants duties are, but are not limited to, greeting and seating patients, reviewing medical history, preparing patient for dental procedures, performing prophylaxis, operating dental x-ray equipment to capture images of teeth, educating patients on proper oral hygiene and care after dental procedures, chairside assisting, patient charting.
The following certifications are preferred:
Radiology
Coronal Polishing
Nitrous Monitoring
Sealants Certification
Restorative Function Certification
This is a very fast paced, pediatric dental office. We strive to provide excellent care for our patients, and often times to go above and beyond to ensure they have a good experience to create a desire to want to come to the dentist. You must have a positive attitude, and a heart for children and their specific needs.
Summary
As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant, you will be integral to providing high-quality patient care in a dental practice. Reporting to the dentist, your role involves chairside assisting, utilizing dental terminology, and applying aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment. Your core skills in general dentistry and knowledge of anatomy will be essential, while premium skills in X-ray procedures will enhance patient management. With a focus on teamwork and patient comfort, you will contribute significantly to the efficiency and success of our dental team.
Qualifications
Certification as a Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Proficient in chairside assisting and dental terminology
Experience with general dentistry practices
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and anatomy
Ability to perform X-rays and understand pediatric dentistry
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
