We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing dental team. This role is ideal for an experienced clinical professional who is confident performing expanded duties, supporting the dentist, and contributing to a high-quality patient experience. The EFDA plays a critical role in both clinical efficiency and patient care, helping ensure procedures are completed accurately, safely, and comfortably.
Schedule
4 days a week with on day off.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all Expanded Functions Dental Assistant duties in accordance with state regulations
Place, contour, and adjust restorations as delegated by the dentist
Assist the dentist during a variety of procedures
Prepare and break down treatment rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and infection control protocols
Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
Take impressions and assist with temporary crowns and restorations
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and charting
Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene instructions
Ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow throughout the day
Maintain inventory and ensure proper stocking of clinical supplies
Collaborate effectively with the clinical and administrative team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Active EFDA certification/license in applicable state (required)
Dental assisting experience required (typically 2+ years preferred)
Radiology (X-ray) certification (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification (required or willingness to obtain)
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and instruments
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and patient care skills
Organized, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
