Expanded Duties Dental Assistant | Private Specialty Dental Practice

An established private specialty dental practice in the Central Virginia area is looking for a motivated, dependable, and highly skilled Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join our clinical team.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys building relationships with patients, and understands the importance of staying one step ahead in a busy clinical environment. The right person will be confident in their assisting skills while also being eager to learn and grow within a specialty practice.

Has Expanded Duties Dental Assistant training/credentials and strong clinical assisting skills
Is dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
Anticipates the doctor's and patient's needs
Works well in a fast-paced clinical environment
Communicates professionally and compassionately with patients
Is comfortable learning new procedures, technology, and clinical protocols
Takes initiative and looks for ways to help the team without always needing to be asked
Understands the importance of accurate documentation and attention to detail
Maintains a positive attitude and contributes to a supportive team environment
Values high standards of patient care and takes pride in doing things the right way
Responsibilities
Depending on experience and training, responsibilities may include:
Assisting doctors with a variety of clinical and surgical procedures
Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment
Providing expanded duty functions within the scope of training and applicable regulations
Taking digital radiographs and maintaining high-quality diagnostic records
Obtaining and documenting patient information and medical histories
Reviewing post-treatment instructions and educating patients on their care
Maintaining accurate and thorough clinical documentation
Following infection control and sterilization protocols
Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment
Supporting efficient patient flow throughout the day
Communicating with doctors, hygienists, and other team members regarding patient care
Helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their visit
