Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our fun and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. A passion for patient care and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient workspace are essential.
Responsibilities
Ensure the patient is comfortable throughout their experience
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available.
Place and polish direct restorations
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using medical imaging equipment.
Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
Manage patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management systems.
Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle administrative tasks as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and work areas in compliance with health regulations.
Support the dental receptionist with front office duties when required.
Experience
Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical coding practices is a plus.
Experience with 3D scanning technology is an advantage. Trios in office.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
