Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team. Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner
Seat patients, review medical histories, and prepare them for procedures
Perform EFDA duties as allowed by state regulations, including but not limited to:
Placing and contouring restorations
Taking impressions
Fabricating and placing temporaries
Applying sealants and fluoride
Assisting with restorative and surgical procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records
Assist with sterilization, operatory turnover, and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment
Take high-quality radiographs
Support dentists, hygienists, and team members as needed
Educate patients on post-op instructions, oral hygiene, and treatment plans
Experience & Requirements:
Active EFDA certification (required)
Radiographer license (required)
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or EFDA
Strong understanding of dental terminology, restorative procedures, and clinical protocols
Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices
Experience with dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft (preferred)
Excellent communication skills and a positive, patient-focused attitude
Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork

We offer competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position with hours of Tuesday 8-7, Wednesday 8-7 and Thursday 8-6.
