Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and confidence.
Perform chairside assisting duties such as preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing dental equipment to ensure a safe and efficient clinical environment.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize 3D scanners for accurate diagnostic imaging while adhering to all radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
Support infection prevention management through proper sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies.
Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow and enhance patient comfort during treatments.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in expanded functions procedures within a general or specialized dental setting.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
Familiarity with dental equipment including X-ray machines, sterilization tools, and digital imaging devices such as 3D scanners.
Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; knowledge of patient management software is highly desirable.
Certification in dental assisting or related fields; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are preferred.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient management and team collaboration.
Knowledge of infection prevention protocols and healthcare infection control expertise necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
