Duties
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry treatments with precision and confidence.
Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including dental X-ray procedures and 3D scans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management policies and aseptic techniques.
Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care.
Support patient management by providing clear instructions, answering questions about procedures, and ensuring a welcoming environment for pediatric patients.
Maintain clinical supplies inventory, ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed, and assist with dental equipment maintenance.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless workflow, including managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when necessary.
Uphold all clinical confidentiality policies while documenting medical records accurately in accordance with healthcare infection prevention standards.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with expanded functions certification or equivalent training in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or oral surgery.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient patient record management.
Hands-on experience with dental X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
Knowledge of infection control protocols aligned with healthcare standards; experience in dental sterilization procedures is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation practices related to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings.
Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while maintaining clinical confidentiality at all times.
