We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dental team. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by performing advanced dental assisting procedures, including taking dental x-rays, sterilization, and assisting with various clinical tasks. Duties
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including restorative and cosmetic treatments.
Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) in accordance with safety protocols.
Perform sterilization procedures to ensure all instruments and equipment are properly disinfected and maintained.
Prepare treatment rooms and materials for patient appointments, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
Follow infection prevention protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment for patients and staff.
Understand and utilize dental terminology accurately in documentation and communication.
Support administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Requirements
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required.
Certification or proficiency in taking dental x-rays is essential.
Knowledge of sterilization procedures and infection control practices is necessary.
Familiarity with dental terminology and clinical procedures is preferred.
Strong patient care skills with excellent communication abilities.
Ability to adhere to safety standards and infection prevention management protocols.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
