Position Overview
As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our providers in a wide range of clinical procedures. You'll have the opportunity to work at the top of your license while helping create positive experiences for patients and contributing to the overall success of the practice.
The ideal candidate is clinically confident, detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to continuous learning and professional excellence.
What You'll Do
Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures
Perform expanded functions in accordance with Ohio EFDA regulations and licensure requirements
Place, contour, and finish restorations
Take impressions and assist with provisional restorations
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment
Educate patients regarding treatment plans, oral hygiene, and post-operative instructions
Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols
Monitor inventory and maintain operatory readiness
Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to support efficient daily operations
What We're Looking For
Current Ohio EFDA certification (required)
Active Ohio Dental Assistant registration/licensure
Current CPR/BLS certification
Previous dental assisting experience preferred
Strong clinical and restorative skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Outstanding communication and patient relationship skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and strong team mentality
Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
