Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as an Experienced Dental Assistant, where your expertise will elevate patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, manage medical documentation, and ensure infection control protocols are meticulously followed. Your proficiency with EMR systems and dental software will help create a seamless patient experience from check-in to treatment completion. Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring smooth workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control standards
Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and medical documentation standards
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate medical records, coding, and billing information is maintained
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, especially in pediatric dentistry settings
Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling and patient communication when needed
Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team
Experience
Proven experience as a dental assistant in a busy general or pediatric dentistry environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures
Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including managing electronic health records and medical coding
Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes in accordance with OSHA standards
Skilled in taking X-rays, 3D imaging, and other medical imaging techniques relevant to dental diagnostics
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics
Experience working with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is advantageous but not required
Ability to communicate effectively using medical terminology while maintaining compassionate patient interactions
