Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dental Assistant with over two years of full-time general practice (GP) office experience to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support our dentists in delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring smooth clinical operations. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and patient management will contribute to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for our patients. Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols
Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
Perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintain clinical supplies in compliance with infection control standards
Assist with patient management tasks including vital signs measurement, patient education, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and empathy
Support administrative duties such as answering the dental receptionist phone line, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation
Requirements
Minimum of two years of full-time experience working in a general dentistry practice with proficiency in dental assisting procedures
X-ray certification
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across various specialties including endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry
Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control policies including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
