Experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant
Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry | Milton and Cumming, GA
Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry is looking for an experienced pediatric dental assistant to join our small, patient focused team. We’re building a practice for the long term and want someone who is excited to help shape its culture from the ground up.
Our fee for service practice offers a low volume schedule, state of the art offices, and the time to give children and families thoughtful care. We also offer family friendly “mommy hours,” with workdays that finish earlier, flexible scheduling, and competitive compensation.
What you’ll do
Assist with pediatric dental visits and help children feel comfortable in the chair
Communicate warmly and clearly with parents and caregivers
Keep rooms prepared and support a smooth day for patients and teammates
Take ownership of your work and contribute to a positive, dependable team culture
What we’re looking for
Dental assisting experience, preferably in pediatric dentistry
Confidence working with children and the ability to contribute from day one
Reliability, initiative, and attention to detail
A desire to grow with a practice and be part of its long term plans
We’ll train the right candidate on our electronic records system. Prior pediatric dental experience is strongly preferred.
If you’re an experienced assistant who wants to do excellent work in a supportive, close knit practice, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply with your résumé and a brief note about your pediatric dental experience.
Duties
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures in pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays using modern digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
Manage patient records efficiently using patient management software such as Curve Hero while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring optimal workflow and patient comfort throughout procedures.
Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions, supporting comprehensive patient care.
Handle dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices following established aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of safety.
Support the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and managing medical records to enhance overall clinic operations.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and explain dental terminology clearly to promote understanding and compliance.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a strong background in pediatric dentistry.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation efficiently.
Knowledge of dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, sterilization tools, and other clinical instruments.
Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards including HIPAA compliance and aseptic techniques.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards.
Excellent understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Strong communication skills with the ability to support patients through education about procedures and post-care instructions.
Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are a plus.
Join us in delivering outstanding dental care by leveraging your expertise in a fast-paced, supportive environment where your skills make a real difference!
Pay: $25.48 - $30.68 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
