Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or experienced dental assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical operations of our busy dental practice. Your expertise in chairside assisting, infection control, and dental procedures will ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. Duties
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and medical imaging, while maintaining strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform vital signs assessments and document medical histories to support comprehensive patient care.
Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient communications.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical documentation and records.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately for intraoral imaging and 3D scanning technology.
Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to provide compassionate care for young patients.
Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients, team members, and external healthcare providers.
