Summary
We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist dentists during clinical procedures, ensure patient comfort, maintain treatment rooms, and support efficient daily office operations. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about patient care and enjoys working in a fast-paced dental environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms and dental instruments before patient appointments.
Welcome and escort patients to treatment rooms while ensuring a comfortable experience.
Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures.
Take and process digital dental X-rays (as permitted by state regulations).
Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
Prepare dental materials and instruments for procedures.
Record patient medical histories and treatment information accurately.
Provide patients with post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishment.
Keep treatment areas clean, organized, and stocked.
Assist with scheduling, charting, and other administrative duties as needed.
Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent customer service.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a Dental Assistant training program preferred.
Current Dental Assistant certification.
X-ray certification (preferred or required based on state regulations).
CPR/BLS certification preferred.
Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards.
Experience with electronic dental records (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar software) is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
