Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our Periodontal practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and a strong foundation in dental assisting. This role involves working closely with dentists to ensure a positive experience for patients. Prior surgical/Periodontal experience is a plus.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Perform dental radiography, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols.
Manage patient records using Dentrix software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Provide chairside assistance in various dental procedures including surgical procedures performed w/ IV Conscious sedation.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Schedule appointments and make post operative calls to patients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area, adhering to infection control protocols.
Support the dental team in administrative tasks as necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred; familiarity with periodontal dentistry and surgical experience is a plus.
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and X-ray procedures.
Knowledge of Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is advantageous.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
