Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! In this role, you will be the backbone of our clinical operations, providing exceptional patient care while supporting dentists with chairside assistance and ensuring smooth daily workflows. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient management will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general and cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign and Scanning, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care.
Take digital dental X-rays and I-Tero scans while adhering to strict radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient records accurately using Dentrix Ascend software ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain infection prevention standards through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques in line with healthcare infection control policies.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are followed at all times to protect patient privacy and data security.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general and cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry procedures.
Proficiency in dental X-ray techniques, and dental instrument processing.
Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend dental software for patient management and record keeping.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Ability to perform chairside assisting using FOUR-HANDED dentistry techniques efficiently.
Experience with dental equipment operation including 2D scanners and other advanced diagnostic tools.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare infection control standards to uphold the highest levels of clinical confidentiality.
