Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
Provide patient education on proper oral hygiene techniques, diet, and preventive care strategies.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared efficiently.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records using dental practice management software such as Dentrix.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing patient flow.
Stay current with industry best practices by participating in ongoing training related to orthodontics, pediatrics, or new dental technologies.
Skills
Proficiency with Tracker or similar dental practice management software.
Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and terminology to assist with related treatments.
Bilingual abilities to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
Experience in dental assisting and familiarity with pediatric dentistry enhances patient comfort.
Strong customer service skills to create a positive experience for every patient.
Ability to understand and utilize medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Previous experience working in a busy dental office environment demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
